There is much discussion about safer cycling and walking. Unfortunately, there's not enough action!
The benefits to people's health, the environment and tourism industry are clear, but unfortunately much of the debate focusses on our cities.
Yes, we need to make cycling and walking safe in our cities but my mission is to ensure our rural areas aren't left behind and forgotten.
I'm absolutely committed to this cause and my work takes me across the patch.
Local campaigns include:
- 'Coffin Lane Campaign' in Axbridge
- Working with parents to push Somerset County Council for a return of a speed camera outside the school in Chilcompton
- Working with the Strawberry Line Association to use the old railway line as a safe route linking Cheddar to Wells
- Working with RNIB for a safe crossing in Coxley
