Yesterday, speaking at Liberal Democrat Conference, Tessa argued against spending £100 billion+ to replace our fleet of 'Trident' submarines and nuclear weapons, designed to flatten Moscow.
Unfortunately, not all in the party heeded her and other's calls to make scrapping the 'deterrent' altogether official party policy, (the vote was lost by 447 to 579 votes). Thankfully, however, the party will still vote against a 'like for like' replacement of Trident when it is put to Parliament. Opting instead to establish This is expected to happen sometime next year, 2016.
It's interesting stuff throughout of course, but if you're short on time skip to 1 hour, 6 minutes to see Tessa's contribution.
